Introducing the 2024/2025 Maserati MSG Racing Team

Following our first two seasons in full-electric Formula E, the Trident is entering its third consecutive season in elite motorsport after a decades-long break from single-seater competition, more electrified than ever for what’s to come. Maserati MSG Racing will be competing in Season 11 with the all-new GEN3 Evo Tipo Folgore, the Trident’s fastest full-electric racer ever, with a new driver and rookie lineup, that is already making history.
An innate passion for motorsport and an insatiable need for innovation are driving the team forward and fast in the FIA Formula E World Championship.

DRIVER

One of Formula E’s elite competitors, Belgian Stoffel Vandoorne has raced it all. His love for speed was discovered when he was just a child, quickly graduating to professional competitions, from junior single-seater titles to dominating in GP2, to racing in Formula 1, it all led up to him joining full-electric Formula E in Season 5.

Over the past six seasons, Stoffel has distinguished himself in full-electric motorsport, claiming 16 podiums, and becoming Formula E’s Season 8 World Champion. Now, as part of Maserati MSG Racing, he is eager to put the championship’s fastest racer through its paces to make this season one to remember.

DRIVER

One of the brightest talents on the Formula E grid, British Jake Hughes immediately made a name for himself in what is considered one of the most impressive rookie seasons ever seen in Formula E, scoring pole position in only his third race in Season 9. Jake continued to come out on top in

Qualifying on multiple occasions, securing his first podium in Shanghai during Season 10.

Before his rookie season, Jake competed as official Reserve Driver in Season 7 for Maserati MSG Racing – at the time Venturi Racing – making him a well-known member of the team. At the advent of a new chapter for Formula E, Jake is eager to enter his third season of full-electric motorsport with the Trident.

Team Principal

Leading Maserati MSG Racing in Season 11 is Cyril Blais. Formerly Deputy Team Principal, Cyril first joined the team in 2022, when he was Race Engineer for Lucas di Grassi, before taking on the role of Race Engineer for the driver who put the Trident back on top for the first time in a World

Championship since 1996, Maximilian Günther, during Seasons 9 and 10. Before Season 10 began, Cyril was promoted to Chief Engineer, and was then further elevated to Deputy Team Principal during S10.

With a laud worthy track record and with distinctions, such as Formula E’s prestigious Engineer of the Year, Cyril is a natural choice to drive Maserati MSG Racing into a promising new season and far beyond.

FAQs on Maserati Formula E

Cyril Blais is the Team Principal of Maserati MSG Racing for Season 11. After having held the role of Deputy Team Principal alongside José Aznar in Season 10. Having joined MSG in 2022, as Lucas di Grassi’s race engineer, Blais continued his career as engineer with Maximilian Günther, helping put the Trident back on top and becoming Formula E Engineer of the Year in 2023.

The House of the Trident joined MSG Racing three years ago to form Maserati MSG Racing for Season 9 (2022/2023) of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The debut also marked the return of Maserati to elite single-seater motorsport after a six-decade absence.

Maserati MSG Racing is the team born from the partnership stipulated on 7 April 2022 between Venturi Racing and Maserati to participate in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, combining Maserati's capabilities as a manufacturer and Venturi Racing's experience in the electric car championship, dating back to the beginning of the full-electric series in 2014.
